The Spindle mattress is adjustable but you have to adjust it manually. You shift layers around to get the right firmness. with 3 layers, you have a total of 6 possible combinations but you will feel 3 different levels of firmness almost effortlessly based on which layer is on top. The 3 layers of the mattress are plush, medium and firm. Each has a different ILD. The Soft layer is 23 ILD with a density of 65 kg per Meter cube, and the second layer is medium and 26-29 ILD with a density of 75 kg per meter cube. the last layer is 34-37 ILD with 85 kg per meter cube density. all these layers are 3 ” thick and are not glued together.
The mattress firmness can be changed by interchanging the order of the latex layers. Whichever layer is on the top will give you the feel you like. There is a small change in the firmness based on the layers on the bottom two layers but this is not very noticeable you can make the mattress slightly firmer or softer by interchanging the bottom two layers once you get the top layer right.
The Dunlop Latex layers are wrapped in organic cotton and come with an inch zippered pillow top cover with organic wool batting. the pillow top covers are made of organic cotton too.
